Discover Armillaria mellea (honey fungus), known to Doukhobors as “obchiniki” and valued as an important food source. Learn to identify this delicious edible mushroom alongside other species using field guides and careful observation.
🔍 Field Identification
Explore diverse habitats on our farm and surrounding areas, encountering various fungi including the elusive Psilocybe semilanceata (liberty cap). Develop your identification skills while discovering the fascinating world of wild mushrooms.
🥫 Preservation Techniques
Master practical mushroom preservation through dehydrating, canning, and pickling methods. Take home your own preserved mushrooms and the skills to continue this rewarding practice.
